This page is a guide to the various types of tournaments I run.  Sometimes these rules affect the way you build a force, while other times it may add special rules or affect the way victory is obtained.  For simplicity's sake, I'll refer to these as "Build Rules" and "Scenarios".

Barrier-

(Scenario) - A lot like the WizKids Battle Royals.

(Note: Inspired by the WizKids Battle Royal tournaments -"Shock the Turtle"-during the 2002 Wizard World Philly and GenCon Indy conventions)

Battle of the Big Boys-

(Scenario/Build Rule) - A tournament where players may only bring figures of a certain point cost or higher.  Actions are usually limited as well.

Example: Saturday's tournament is a 1,000 point Battle of the Big Boys.  The judge announces that players may only bring figures who cost 125 points or more.  This tournament will also allow players 3 actions per turn.

Capture the Flag-

(Scenario) - A

Dupes Okay-

(Build Rule) - With this Build Rule, players may ignore the house rule that prevents the use of Duplicate figures in their force.  Note that you may still not use duplicates of the same Unique or LE.

Joker's Wild-

(Scenario) - At the beginning of each round of the tournament, the Judge will randomly determine which scenario is being played that round.  Which scenarios are included and how they are randomly determined is solely up to the Judge.

King of the Hill-

(Scenario) - Mark the 4 squares in the middle of the map with "Special" counters.  If at the start of a player's turn he has a figure occupying any of the 4 squares in the center of the map without any of the opponents figures in any of the 4 squares, then he may nominate any single figure on the opposing force to take 1 click of damage.  Note that this damage ignores all powers and team abilities.

(Note: Inspired by the WizKids Battle Royal tournaments during the 2002 Wizard World Texas convention)

No "X" / "X" Only-

(Build Rule) - This Build Rule dictates which Universes (DC, Marvel, or Indy) will or will not be used in a given tournament.

Example: Wednesday's tournament is Marvel Only.  This Saturday's is a No DC tournament (Marvel & Indy allowed).

Roughnecks:

(Build Rule) - The following restrictions apply in a Roughnecks tournament;

No figures with Support on their dial that costs less than 50 points.                       No figures with Probability Control on their dial that costs less than 50 points.        No figures with Outwit on their dial that costs less than 50 points.                       No figures with Perplex on their dial that costs less than 50 points.

No Bystander Tokens or Feat cards.

All other House Rules apply.

Same Set-

(Build Rule) - All figures in your force must be from the same HeroClix Set.

Example: Player B creates a force comprised from the Clobberin' Time set, while his opponent has a force consisted entirely of Cosmic Justice figures.

Same Universe-

(Build Rule) - All figures in your force must be from the same HeroClix Universe.  Note that ALL of Indy is considered the same Universe (i.e. you choose DC, Marvel, or Indy).

Example: Player B creates a force comprised from Marvel-based figures, while his opponent has a force consisted entirely of DC-based figures.

Wildcards Cross-

(Scenario/Build Rule) - This option can be either a Build Rule or a Scenario.  When this rule/scenario is in effect, players may ignore the house rule that prevents Wildcards from one universe from using the team ability from another universe.
